About Us
Columbia Atheists is a local secular community for atheists, agnostics, humanists, skeptics, freethinkers, and people questioning or leaving religious belief. We meet regularly in Columbia, MO and our gatherings are open to anybody who wants to have a conversation.
We exist to build connection, support secular voices in civic life, defend church and state separation, and create a welcoming space for people who value reason, compassion, curiosity, and community.

Who We Are
Our members come from many backgrounds. Some of us were raised religious. Some of us never believed. Some are newly questioning, some have been secular for decades, and some are still figuring out what language fits.
What brings us together is not a single life story. It is a shared commitment to community without religious requirement, evidence based thinking, human dignity, and the freedom to live openly and honestly.

What We Do
Columbia Atheists hosts social gatherings, community conversations, educational events, volunteer opportunities, and local advocacy efforts. We also work to increase visibility for secular people in Columbia and support policies that protect religious freedom for everyone, including the freedom not to believe.
