Happy New Year

It is time to renew your membership to the Columbia Atheists. It is easy to pay your membership fee though PayPal. $10 makes you a voting member. Anything more you wish to give will help us move that much closer to achieving our goal of becoming a true nonprofit.

We will receive matching fund to your dues up to $300 towards our 501.c.3 campaign.

On Sunday, January 11, Julian Jackman – Community Leader, Youth Advocate, Founder/Executive Director of P.E.A.C.E. and Co-Executive Director of the P.E.A.C.E. and H.O.P.E. Center for Youth will be talking with us concering at risk youth in Columbia and Boone County from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Fretboard Coffee.

EVERY WEDNESDAY – COLUMBIA ATHEISTS SOCIAL HOUR (or two) at the Broadway Brewery from 7:00 to about 9:00. Enjoy food (if you are hungry), drink (if you whistle needs wetting) and conversation. No minimums.

EVERY SUNDAY - SUNDAY MORNING DISCUSSION - We meet for coffee and discussion Sunday mornings at Fretboard Coffee on Artist Alley, next to the bus station, each Sunday from 10:00 AM to about noon.

January 1 - HAPPY NEW YEAR - May 2026 find happiness, good health and prosperity for you and yours.

January 7 - ORTHODOX NEW YEAR - Yes, they are still working off the old Julian calendar.

January 11 - COLUMBIA ATHIEST'S MONTHLY BOARD MEETING - Please join us at 9:00 AM at Fretboard Coffee as we make plans for the new year.

January 11 - SPEAKER JULIAN JACKSON - At 10:00 as Julian discusses his work with at-risk youth and how we can help his organizations.

January 11 - 83rd ANNUAL GOLDEN GLOBE AWARDS - It is the start of weeks of award shows. Watch it on your local CBS affiliate.

January 14 - ORTHODOX NEW YEAR - Using the Julian Calendar, which is 13 days behind the Gregorian calendar.

January 16 - NATIONAL RELIGIOUS FREEDOM DAY - Allowing everyone to practice their beliefs as they see appropriate for the day. This is a celibration of the First Amendment's Establishment Clause.

January 18 - FLAT BRANCH PARK CLEAN-UP - We will meet at the surface parking lot at 5th and Cherry at 9:00 AM to clean you Flat Branch Park. If you wish to work the creek, please bring your waders or hip boots with warm socks.

January 19 - MARTIN LUTHER KING Jr'S CELIBRATION - We take time to honor the civil rights leader and humanitarian. It is a federal and state holiday

Jnauray 27 - INTERNATIONAL DAY OF COMMEMORATION IN MEMORY OF THE VICTIMS OF THE HOLICAUST - Remembering the 12 million murdered, including 6 million Jews, in the name of ethnic cleansing by the Third Reich.

January 31 - NATIONAL HOT CHOCOLATE DAY - Enjoy with or without the mini- marshmellows.
