EVERY WEDNESDAY – COLUMBIA ATHEISTS SOCIAL HOUR (or two) at the Broadway Brewery from 7:00 to about 9:00. Enjoy food (if you are hungry), drink (if you whistle needs wetting) and conversation. No minimums.
EVERY SUNDAY - SUNDAY MORNING DISCUSSION - We meet for coffee and discussion Sunday mornings at Fretboard Coffee on Artist Alley, next to the bus station, each Sunday from 10:00 AM to about noon.

APRIL 3 – GOOD FRIDAY – The Friday before Easter which includes holiday prayers.
APRIL 4 – NATIONAL HUG A NEWS-PERSON DAY – As a columnist for the Columbia Missourian, I will accept all hugs on behalf of my fellow newspaper professionals and citizen journalists.
APRIL 5 – EASTER – Astronomically the first full moon after the Spring equinox. The origin of the Easter Bunny, hares and eggs can be dated back to the 13th century in pagan German history and are all symbols of the rebirth of the earth and life.
APRIL 5 - For those of us who don't go to church, we are meeting Sunday morning at Fretboard Coffee.
APRIL 12 – ORTHODOX EASTER – Orthodox Easter takes place following the first full moon after Passover because, according to the New Testament, the crucifixion and resurrection of Christ took place after he entered Jerusalem to celebrate Passover.
APRIL 14 – MY BIRTHDAY – To celebrate, please join Columbia Atheists.
APRIL 15 – TAX DAY – I do hope you have filed by then electronically. With the reduction of the IRS work force, it may take a few days before then can respond to your questions.
APRIL 16 – The FOOD BANK OF CENTRAL & NORTHEAST MISSOURI NEEDS VOLUNTEERS – Come help at The Food Pantry by packing meals and supplies for those who need help feeding themselves and their families. The Food Pantry has moved next to the new Aldi’s on Business Loop 70. APRIL 19 - SPECIAL SPEAKER - Laura Wacker from the Peace Nook will visit us to talk about Earth Day and Peace Nook activities.
APRIL 20 – BOSTON MARATHON – The race is traditionally held on Patriot's Day. In 1969, both the holiday and race were permanently moved to the third Monday of April.
APRIL 22 – EARTH DAY – The brainchild of Senator Gaylord Nelson and inspired by the protests of the 1960s, Earth Day began as a “national teach-in on the environment.”
APRIL 22 – ISRAEL’S INDEPENDENCE DAY – Yom Ha'atzma'ut, Israeli Independence Day, commemorates the declaration of independence of Israel in 1948 from British colonial rule.
APRIL 23 – TAKE YOUR DAUGHTER AND SON TO WORK DAY – It is the day when the kiddos see what mom and dad actually do for a living.
APRIL 24 – ARBOR DAY – Go hug your favorite tree without being “WOKE.”
APRIL 26 – COLUMBIA'S EARTH DAY CELEBRATION AT PEACE PARK – From noon to 6:00. Columbia Atheist will have our canopy up just east of 9th and Elm Street. Please visit and join us in this worth while festivity. If you would like to help us set up, please arrive at 10:00 AM.
April is considered the month of rebirth of the earth. Treat the planet accordingly.
